Cafe Brusco Seeks Barista

Cafe Brusco is currently seeking a Barista to join our amazing team, 4-5 shifts per week. This position will primarily be coffee and service focussed, but we are looking for someone who is also excited to cross train on kitchen duties for a well-rounded and flexible position.

We are a small team that works collaboratively and takes pride in all aspects of what we do. We make our own bagels down the street at Rose Pizza(same ownership), make delicious and seasonal bagel sandwiches and serve excellent coffee from Counter Culture as well as a rotating guest roaster, and pastries from Good Luck Bakery. In the 7 months we’ve been open we’ve already established a strong community of regulars and the team is working together fluidly and having fun doing it!

The Barista position consists of working three different stations: Register, Bar and Floater/Dishwasher. Register duties include taking orders with an emphasis on warm and genuine customer service, handling cash, maintaining product inventory and communicating with the kitchen and fellow baristas. When acting as “Floater” your focus will be on cafe cleanliness and organization, prepping drink bases and syrups, brewing filter coffee, bussing tables and washing dishes. While you are working on the Bar (espresso machine), your focus will be on preparing espresso based drinks with an efficient and quality-focussed work-flow. We rotate through these 3 stations throughout each shift to keep things fresh and equitable.

Starting pay $20 per hour, plus equal share of tips (currently averaging $8-12+/hr) after 3 training shifts. Other perks include staff discounts, shift meals, snacks and coffee drinks!

Shifts begin as early as 7:15AM and end no later than 4PM. Must be available to work weekends. 3 shifts minimum.

•At least one year of experience in a restaurant or cafe kitchen, high volume a plus

•A keen interest in / love of coffee and cafes!

•A great track record of working well with others, with focus and positive energy

•Self-motivated, excited to participate and learn
