Cafe/Specialty Shop Hiring Barista/Retail Team Member

Campbell & Co. is a neighborhood-focused café and grocery with outposts in both Williamsburg and Greenpoint. We are looking for a dependable, veteran barista and retail professional to join our Greenpoint crew. If you thrive in high-energy environments, enjoy collaborative teamwork, and share our deep passion for artisanal food and cheese, we want to meet you! We are currently hiring for a full-time position; candidates must be available both Saturdays and Sundays.

Primary Responsibilities Include

– Expertly manage the espresso bar while delivering exceptional, approachable hospitality that fosters a loyal community of regulars.

– Operate the POS system, manage inventory restocking, and support the team with general shop maintenance and daily operational goals.

– Uphold rigorous standards for beverage quality and visual presentation for every order.

– Keep the counter area pristine and organized, ensuring full compliance with all DOH and DOA health and safety regulations.

– Resolve guest concerns with grace, speed, and a professional, solution-oriented mindset.

– Execute thorough opening and closing protocols and essential side work to ensure a seamless transition between shifts.

• Retail hours in the morning as cashier.

Requirements

– At least one year of professional experience with La Marzocco equipment, including proficiency in latte art, alternative milk textures, and basic technical troubleshooting for grinders.

– An approachable, positive demeanor and the ability to maintain composure during high-volume service periods.

– A genuine commitment to hospitality and delivering a superior guest experience.

– A collaborative, “all hands on deck” mindset that values the rhythm of a close-knit team.

– A shared passion for seasonal, locally-sourced provisions and artisanal products.

– Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

– Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation

hourly: $13, plus tips

Our retail focus is on locally-sourced and well-made goods—items that celebrate our community of NYC producers and upstate NY farmers: Fine & Raw chocolates, White Moustache yogurts, East Hollow ciders, and Queen Majesty hot sauces to name a few. Our cheese case features dozens of carefully-curated cheeses, and our beer and cider selection is just as large, with a unique complement of primarily local brews.

-As needed, help deliver drop-off catering in a car service

-Assist with pre-production and post-production of events

-Possibility to work on-site at events for additional hours

-Work with management and owners to improve upon current catering systems

-Retail hours in the morning as cashier, when needed

-Must possess mature, professional demeanor to interact with vendors, staff and guests.

-Ability to work early morning, weekends and holidays when required.

-Driver's License & car a plus!

Compensation

hourly, $22+ depending on experience

Our catering program is growing daily, providing seasonal spreads for corporate lunches, private celebrations, and production shoots for photo and film.
