The Pocket is a 170-seat jazz club, full bar, and restaurant opening June 2026 in Times Square. Operating with a two-show nightly format, we exist to support and grow the jazz community by welcoming listeners into the New York jazz scene. Our mission is to delight guests through unparalleled dining and listening experiences that are captivating, warm, unique, and memorable. We plan to expand into weekend brunch and late-night programming in the future.

The Food Runner is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to guests with precision, speed, and care, supporting the service team across two shows nightly. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food from kitchen to tables
• Clear plates between courses and shows
• Answer basic menu questions
• Communicate timing with servers and kitchen
• Check plate presentation before leaving kitchen
• Maintain food running stations
• Assist with table resets
• Support servers and floor team during high-volume service
• Maintain knowledge of our extensive food menu

Requirements

• 1+ year restaurant experience
• Ability to work quickly under pressure
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand 6+ hours
• Evening and weekend availability
• NYC Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly wage: $11.35/hour + tips
• State applicable time off
• Dining Benefit: 50% discount on all food and beverage at The Pocket
• Show Tickets: Complimentary tickets to performances, subject to availability (not available for sold-out shows)

The above represents the expected wage for this position. In determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
