Pay: $19.18/hr + pooled tips, averaging around $30/hr total
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, daytime shifts
Hours: Daytime shifts Thursday–Monday; closed Tuesday and Wednesday; exact schedule to be discussed
Leadbetter’s Bake Shop is a small bakery café in the Castro focused on oversized artisan English muffins, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and neighborhood hospitality.
We’re looking for a full-time Line Cook / Sandwich Line Cook to join our small kitchen team. This role is focused on making sandwiches on the line during service, with some prep, stocking, cleaning, and general kitchen support.
This is a good fit for someone with kitchen experience who wants steady daytime hours, a small-team environment, and room to learn as the business grows. We’re looking for someone reliable, curious, coachable, organized, and willing to jump in where needed.
What you’ll do
- Make sandwiches and toasted English muffin items during service
- Cook eggs, proteins, and other sandwich components to order
- Read tickets and assemble orders accurately
- Set up, stock, clean, and break down your station
- Help with prep, portioning, labeling, dishes, and kitchen cleaning
- Work calmly and efficiently during busy periods
- Support the team wherever needed
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years of professional kitchen, café, deli, brunch, prep, or line experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a kitchen and following food safety standards
- Conversational English as a minimum requirement
- Able to follow recipes, build guides, and service systems
- Clean, organized, reliable, and on time
- Team-first attitude; willing to ask questions and take feedback
- Flexible and comfortable in a small-business environment
- Weekend availability required
- Able to stand for a full shift and safely lift/carry up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Food Handler Card required or willingness to obtain one before starting
This is not a large restaurant line with many stations. It is a focused sandwich line inside a small bakery café. The job is simple to learn, but quality, consistency, timing, cleanliness, and attitude matter a lot.
