Michelin-Starred Chez Noir Hiring Chef de Partie

Chez Noir is a Michelin-starred restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea focused on the ingredients of the California coast. Our menu evolves daily and reflects close relationships with local fishermen, farmers, and foragers.

Our kitchen produces much of its work in-house, including fresh pasta, charcuterie, and sauces, while working with exceptional seafood, meats and seasonal produce from Monterey County and California.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef de Partie and a Pastry Cook to join our small, focused team.

This is a demanding kitchen that values discipline, curiosity, and pride in craft. The right cooks will thrive in a fast-moving environment where details matter and learning never stops.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare daily mise en place using exceptional seasonal ingredients

• Execute a station during service with precision and consistency

• Maintain high standards of organization, cleanliness, and food safety

• Work collaboratively with the team to execute a constantly evolving menu

• Contribute to a culture of professionalism and respect in the kitchen

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years kitchen experience (fine dining or ambitious kitchens preferred)

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Genuine interest in ingredients, technique, and seasonality

• Ability to stay organized and composed during busy services

• Professional, communicative, and team-oriented

Schedule

• Full-time

• 5 days per week

• 50–70 hours depending on the week
