Part-Time Afternoon & Evening Café Server — Thai Aperitivo & Wine (West Village)

Sunrisét Café & Víno is NYC's first Thai Aperitivo Café, located at 112 Greenwich Avenue in the West Village. We serve specialty espresso, natural wines, and Thai-inspired bites including our signature edible insect program. We are hiring afternoon and evening team members to own the wine and aperitivo experience.

This is a hospitality-forward role for someone who loves natural wine, evening dining culture, and connecting with guests in a warm, distinctive environment.

The Role

You'll run the floor and bar during our afternoon and evening service, guide guests through our natural wine list and Thai aperitivo menu, and be the face of Sunrisét after noon. You'll build relationships with regulars, represent our edible insect program with confidence, and help create the kind of evening experience guests talk about.

Available Shifts

Thursday: 2:45pm – 11:00pm

Friday: 2:45pm – 11:00pm

Saturday: 3:15pm – 11:00pm

Sunday: 3:15pm – 9:00pm

PAY

$16/hour during 3-week training period

$17/hour after training + tips

Higher base rate available for experienced candidates

⚠️ Important — Edible Insect Menu

Our menu features real edible insects — crickets, silkworm, and others — served as part of our Thai aperitivo experience. This is a core and celebrated part of what we do.

You MUST be comfortable with

Talking about insects on the menu with confidence and curiosity

Guiding guests through our bug program with enthusiasm

Turning nervous or curious guests into excited ones

If insects make you uncomfortable, this role isn't the right fit — we respect that, but we need a teammate who can represent this part of our menu proudly.

What You'll Do

Welcome and seat guests, manage the floor during evening service

Guide guests through our natural wine and Thai aperitivo menu

Serve wine, cocktails, Thai-inspired bites, and edible insect dishes

Handle POS transactions (Otter)

Keep the space clean, organized, and beautiful through service

Support closing duties and hand off the space cleanly at end of shift

Who We're Looking For

At least 1 year of hospitality or service experience preferred

Warm, confident, and natural with guests

Interest in natural wine, Thai culture, or wellness is a big plus

Comfortable serving and explaining edible insects to guests

Reliable and calm under an evening rush

NYC Food Handler card a plus (we'll help you get one)
