Sushi restaurant in need of wait staff

Family-Owned Sushi and Teriyaki Restaurant – Gresham, OR

We’re looking for a friendly and dependable waiter/waitress to join our sushi & teriyaki restaurant team! Fast-paced environment, great team, and flexible hours. Experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person.

Key Responsibilities

-Welcome guests and seat them promptly

-Learn and memorize our menu to confidently answer questions

-Present menus and explain dishes, ingredients, and allergy info

-Set tables with napkins, silverware, plates, and glasses

-Clear and clean tables and dining areas

-Refill sauces, to‑go supplies, beverages, and other essentials

-Share daily specials and make menu recommendations

-Upsell items when appropriate

-Take accurate food and drink orders (POS, order slips, or memorization)

-Check IDs for alcohol service

-Communicate clearly with kitchen staff

-Serve food and drinks with care

-Ensure dishes and tableware are clean and presentable

-Deliver checks and process payments

-Assist with carrying dishes back to the kitchen

-Review specials and menu updates with staff before shifts

-Follow all health department guidelines

-Provide warm, attentive customer service

What We’re Looking For

-Previous serving experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train

-Experience with POS or cash handling is helpful

-Strong multitasking and organizational skills

-Friendly, patient, and attentive with customers

-Clear communication and active listening

-Works well in a team environment

-Able to perform in a fast-paced setting

-Flexible availability for different shifts

-Oregon Food Handler Card and/or Alcohol Serving Permit (or willing to obtain)

-Minimum 1 year of serving experience preferred

Work Environment

Fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen

Standing for extended periods

Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp tools, and kitchen equipment
