Lead Line Cook / Prep Lead – $26/hr + Housing (Walk to Work)

Position starts first week of June and ends October 1st

Mediterranean Fast Casual | Solterra

Near Glacier National Park, Montana

We are a family-owned, farm-to-table restaurant hiring a Lead Line Cook / Prep Lead to help run daily kitchen prep at our Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant.

This is primarily a behind-the-scenes kitchen role focused on prep, organization, and keeping the kitchen stocked and ready for service. You will work with 3–4 additional staff members who assist with prep and front-of-house tasks.

All recipes and systems are already in place — your role is to execute consistently and keep prep organized each day.

Start Date: Approximately June 9

Position Details

Pay: $25 per hour + shift meal

Schedule: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Hours: About 9 hours per day, 5-6 days per week

Season: June through September

Housing Included (Walking Distance to Restaurant)

Private bedroom

Shared bathroom

Shared kitchen

Approximately 4 roommates total

Completion bonus available for finishing the full season

Location: Near Glacier National Park, Montana

What You'll Be Doing

This role is similar to working in a Cava-style Mediterranean kitchen, focused on steady prep and consistent food execution.

Daily work includes

Organizing daily prep lists and directing prep priorities for the team

Prepping vegetables, grains, sauces, and proteins

Cooking and batch prepping menu items

Following established recipes exactly

Keeping ingredients stocked and organized

Maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen

Helping keep service running smoothly

Occasionally assisting with basic food ordering and inventory

Occasionally assisting at the front if needed

Consistency, organization, and reliability matter more than advanced cooking techniques.

What We're Looking For

Previous line cook or prep experience required

Comfortable organizing daily prep workflow

Strong organization and time management

Ability to follow recipes and systems exactly

Reliable and steady work habits

Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen

Team-oriented and dependable

Willing to commit to the full summer season

Work Expectations

We maintain a professional workplace

No drugs

No alcohol during work

Reliable attendance required

Respectful, team-first attitude

Solterra is a Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant focused on fresh ingredients and scratch-made food. We are a small, privately operated restaurant, not corporate, where each team member plays an important role in daily operations.
